Instructions for Virus Removal

You will  Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet Access

First, download the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. This is an Internet browser that you can use instead of using Internet Explorer.

As so many home pc’s and businesses computers use Internet Explorer, many hacker program viruses to get to your computer through Internet Explorer.

When you’ve downloaded FireFox, open the browser and navigate to www.free.avg.com and get AVG, This is a free anti-virus program that also has virus removal tools.

AVG is a lot better than many free anti-virus programs and in many cases better than paid programs.  There are two versions of AVG – the free AVG edition and the paid AVG version, The free version is pretty good.

Run AVG to search the whole hard drive on your computer. It will look for files that have threats. Be prepared to wait anything from 2 – 4 hours – be patient, especially if you have a large hard drive.

When AVG has finished it’s search, it will say if it has found any viruses or threats on your computer – Run the remove and guarantee option so they don’t affect any other files. The anti-virus programe should have cleared out your hard drive and removed any virus. You can then reboot your PC.

If your PC is still playing up, navigate to www.download.com. This site hosts many downloads, including a lot of free virus removal programs.
CNET owns this site – they are a top computer magazine portal. Anything you download from them is good.

Go toward the center of the website and find a list of popular downloads, here you will find many free virus removal tools.
Find  – Malwarebytes Anti-Malware –  and download this great free virus software.

Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, allow it to  search your whole hard drive. All of these software programs take a long time – be patient.

When Malware bytes finishes searching your entire system, allow it to remove any threats that it has found. Reboot your PC – everything should be working fine now. I sometimes run these programmes several times, each time rebooting. Make sure you have the latest versions and virus signatures before you run the anti virus software.
